# Executive Summary

Bluelight is an economic strategy game about building your own startups in a multiverse. The game implements play to earn mechanics to incentivize active players as they progress. The game has a fine balance between fun gameplay and earnings and doesn't require a start capital or paid items to enjoy the game.&#x20;

The player’s goal of the game is to build the most powerful startup, represented as a unicorn.

Bluelight has a strong foundation. The product team behind Bluelight has founded the award-winning [private web3 browser Aloha](https://alohabrowser.com/), with millions users worldwide. The development partner, [Dragons Lake](https://dragonslake.com/), a development studio that worked on various AAA titles for Epic, Sony and Nintendo. Finally, the lore comes from [Take My Muffin](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCPGjsqqZVDVIqCOFjSiAHg) animation series by [Toonbox](https://toonbox.studio/) and the game will be featured in almost every episode.

As the story of the game goes, the world is on its turning point. Corporations rule the world and the market is divided between them. There is no space to grow, possibilities are limited. Bluelight corporation has decided to expand the market by creating new virtual worlds, **the cubes**, where young ambitious entrepreneurs can start their own technical revolution.

The cubes are populated with different characters, each one has a unique set of skills that are useful to complete projects and grow the startup. Each cube represents its own universe with specific sets of rules. Owning your own cube creates unparalleled flexibility for the players.

Players can enjoy various activities while growing their startups, like completing projects, building their own offices, training employees, while competing with other players for rankings and participating in PvP battles. Teaming up with other players helps to grow their startup faster. As it’s getting bigger, players can hire other players to work for them.

Those players who have a creative edge can immerse themselves into creating their own NFT-based game assets, setting the projects for other startups or even creating their own universe inside the cube.

Being a web3 game, Bluelight benefits from modern technologies like NFTs and item ownership. Players directly own all the items they have in the game, can rent them out, trade, and can use them across various multiverse experiences that will come in future.

But as we don't want to leave anyone behind, players who are not yet into web3 can still play and enjoy the game, and there is no requirement to purchase anything to start playing. All player's assets can be claimed later, if they want to switch to a full web3 experience later.

Bluelight and its characters are based on an animation series Take My Muffin. It is not necessary to be familiar with a Take My Muffin lore to enjoy the game, but Bluelight and the series include a lot of cross references and come great together. Take My Muffin is [available on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCPGjsqqZVDVIqCOFjSiAHg) for free.

# Gameplay

![](https://759053326-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FGDWzJLDI8fnyNevGYHZX%2Fuploads%2FLEBcNIkpx4hqoJyqRkuU%2FGameplay.png?alt=media\&token=05bce2d2-12c5-4d14-8823-ee017f09fb08)

The goal of the game is to grow your own company from a startup to a multiverse corporation. There are multiple paths to do that, and you are free to choose your own. You can complete projects and invest into growth, build multiple companies at the same time, or help someone manage their properties.

Multiple opportunities will come up as you progress through the game and the available mechanics will evolve accordingly.

# Your own unicorn

Your startup is your own unicorn. As you are getting more experienced and growing your business, your unicorn grows as well. Basically, the more powerful your company is, the more powerful is your unicorn.

Your unicorn has its unique set of cards that are used in battles for completing projects. Cards can be upgraded as your unicorn level up.

Unicorn can be claimed as an NFT that belongs to you.

At the beginning, the player will get an egg that will produce a unicorn as the game progresses.

During the game, players may encounter extra items that can be applied to the unicorn to gain more power or change its appearance. Players can purchase these items directly from other players on the marketplace.

These extra items are NFTs players can either keep for themselves, burn them to improve their unicorn, or sell them on the marketplace.

# Characters and the team

Like in the real world, people matter the most. The better team you have, the higher are chances for you to succeed. Gather a diverse team, the one that can handle any task that may pop up during the game. Invest in your characters’ education to make them better at their job. At the beginning it may be easier to grow your team from interns who are eager to learn, but later you may want to look for a character with a specific strong set of skills.

### Character roles

Each character has a role. It is something like a character class, meaning he will be performing best when assigned with tasks relevant to his role.

There are 5 roles available: *engineer*, *scientist*, *designer*, *manager*, *sales*. Role is important, because if you assign people without skills to a specific task, you will receive a performance penalty. It doesn’t make sense to ask your marketer to write a code, right?

Some of the characters may be demanding and may require special conditions of the office space before they can start working for you.

### Skills and flaws

Like in real life, each character has its own set of skills and flaws. Skills and flaws are represented in the form of cards. Each character has 2 to 6 cards, depending on its rarity.

Skills are used when completing projects, significantly improving your chances of success.

Flaws on the other hand may interfere with project development and increase the chance of negative random events.

When a character is assigned to a project, his cards will mix into the deck and the player will randomly draw the necessary amount of cards from the deck on each turn.

Not every character may be valuable enough for you, but you can fire them to pass their remaining skills to another character.

### Getting new members

New characters of your team may be directly acquired at the marketplace.

Random characters can also be found in a Bluelight box deliveries and/or won while completing the projects.

### Leveling up

Characters receive experience points (***exp***) over the time. Characters receive a small amount of **exp** while working passively in the office.

As characters build up enough experience, they are leveling up and their attributes increase. They also may get an extra card for their deck.

If you have characters with poor performance, or the ones you no longer need, you can fire them and pass their **exp** to another character to speed up leveling up.

During the game, you can meet a special type of character, who has poor skills but has a lot of **exp**. Use them to improve your other members of the team.

Leveling up is a process, and it requires some resources. First, you should have enough **bux** and **$KALE** on your balance, enough **exp** for the character, and specific resources for each class, detailed on the leveling up screen.

# Land

Bluelight world consists of cubes, representing worlds. On the day of the launch, there will be one cube world available for players, genesis cube. Initial land sale will take place in the genesis cube. Next cube will become available when the genesis cube will be densely populated and the community will agree that the game requires more space to grow.

### Land parcels

Depending on the size of the cube, it consists of a certain number of pieces of the land, called parcels.

Each land parcel is described as coordinates on the map and may have a different size. The player can later combine adjacent parcels to a bigger one to accomodate a bigger building.

There are two types of parcels: community parcels, and privately owned parcels.

Community parcels are pieces of land that are shared to a community and are used as a starting point for new players.

Private parcels are pieces of land that belong to other players (landowners). They can decide to make these lands publicly accessible or to keep it private and allow invitation only visits.

Each parcel has a set of power up attributes. Players who reside in the office on this parcel benefit from these attributes.

Attributes can be improved over time, depending on the neighborhood development. Highly developed and populated neighborhoods will get more benefits.

Some attributes may depend on the landscape, for example, land with a good view may provide more benefits than a land in a desert.

### Land ownership

Landowners can decide what they want to do with their land parcels, either put a building or recreation area on it, rent it to other players, or sell it on the marketplace.

Landowners have other benefits as well. They can vote on upcoming Bluelight features and can participate in occasional rare NFTs drops.

Land is a finite resource so it grows in price as more gamers are coming in.

### Renting land

If landowners don’t want to develop their land by themselves, they can rent the land to another player.

There are two pricing options on renting, it may be either fixed amount or revenue share.

Players, who own and/or rent adjacent land, can build bigger offices and earn more from it.

In case the renting agreement is off, and another player has a real estate built on this land, then the real estate owner will get the blueprints for this building back, but the building will be destroyed. All items from the office will be returned to the owners.

# Real estate

### Office space <a href="#m1pd6tmdysz" id="m1pd6tmdysz"></a>

Startups residing in the office receive power ups.

You may build your own office if you own or rent a land parcel, or you can rent a floor or whole office from another player.

Power ups depend on a lot of factors, like neighborhood, land, office building, office equipment.

Each office can accommodate a finite number of employees. If your startup needs more space, you may rent an extra floor or move to a new office.

Some office items, like desks, provide additional space for new employees.

Each office has limited space for office equipment so be wise when placing desks for your team. When employees are too packed in the office, they may receive a productivity penalty.

Newly built offices come with a set of basic office equipment that has no power ups but can be upgraded.

Some characters will require a specific equipment and/or office level before they can start working in your office.

### Residential space

After a long working day, the player's characters would like to have some sleep or go for a walk in the park.

Owning or renting residential space near or at the office decreases the necessary cooldown time for characters before they are ready to start on a new project.

### Factories

Factories can produce new office equipment. Production cycle requires some time and resources, which are clearly stated before you begin a production cycle. Depending on a factory type, various types of office equipment may be produced.

After the production cycle, the factory will produce an office equipment item(s). The rarity of produced equipment is determined by chances.

Players can increase chances of getting more valuable items by recycling (burning) his unused office items.

### Parks and landmarks

Parks and unique landmarks give a productivity boost to offices nearby. Parks and landmarks can not be used as an office or a residential space.

### Buildings & Blueprints

Buildings come in the form of blueprints. If you have a blueprint, you can construct a building, which will consume the blueprint. Construction process takes some time and can be sped up with boosters.

Building defines the size of the office/residence and its initial power ups available to startups residing in it. Each building has its own set of unique power ups.

Each building has a footprint and a number of floors. You can not place a building with a footprint bigger than land parcel you own or rent, unless you have adjacent land parcels that can accommodate building footprint combined.

You can replace old buildings with new ones when you are ready to upgrade your office. When an old building is demolished, you’ll be able to construct a new building if you have the new blueprint for it.

Buildings come in a variety of styles and sizes, created by Bluelight and by creators and their blueprints are available on the marketplace.

### Renting a building

If you can not afford to build your own building, you can rent some space from other players.

If you have unused floors in your building, you can rent it out to other people.

Rent can be a fixed amount or a revenue share from the tennant’s profit.

If you haven’t paid your rent, all items from your office will be returned to you and the office will become available for rent to another player.

# Items

### Office equipment <a href="#jp0moxbar4fy" id="jp0moxbar4fy"></a>

Office equipment gives power ups to the team working from that specific office.

Office equipment in inventory that is not placed in the office, doesn’t provide any power ups.

Office equipment can be placed and removed from the office at any time, so you can prepare your office according to your needs at a specific time.

### Bluelight Box deliveries

Players will encounter box deliveries on occasional air drops, as a bonus for completing the projects. Boxes can also be bought directly from the marketplace.

Each box contains a set of random items, and the chances to get a specific item are clearly stated on the info panel of the box.

# Projects

Completing projects is how startups work and how you earn **bux** and **$KALE**. This is one of the basic game mechanics players will be dealing with. Available projects are unlimited and may be automatically generated, or created by other players.

### Completing projects <a href="#id-5c0m0xboujrd" id="id-5c0m0xboujrd"></a>

Projects consist of milestones you need to complete. Before working on every milestone, the player gathers a team of characters with required skills and levels. Each team member contributes their skill cards to a deck, and the deck is shuffled. Depending on the milestone, there may be a limit of cards to play. When the milestone starts, progress meter is set at 0% and each turn random events will occur, and the player will respond with the card from his deck to mitigate the event and progress towards the goal. As soon as all turns are over and progress meter reaches 100%, the milestone will be completed. If the progress meter won’t reach 100% by the end of all turns, the milestone will fail.

When all of the project’s milestones are completed, the player will receive a completion reward (as indicated in project’s description), and the characters who have participated in the project will receive a temporary productivity boost.

### Epic projects <a href="#u82671sun3cj" id="u82671sun3cj"></a>

Each game’s season, there is an epic project that brings great rewards to startups who complete them in time. Epic projects are time sensitive and should be fully completed before the end of the season.

The player or alliance who completed the project in the shortest amount of time wins. Time starts when the player starts working on a first milestone of the epic project, so players have some time to prepare. At the end of the season, the top players with the best time share the prize pool.

### Creating projects

Later, when you are big enough, you can create new projects for other players to complete and earn a share of their reward.

# Management

### Multiple office management

When you have more than one office, it may become difficult to manage. In that case, you can hire another player to help you with it.

The player who helps you manage your property will get a share of rewards.

### Outsource

You can pay for office management with a fixed amount or revenue share.

If you want to be an office manager for another player, please check the jobs board.

# Creators

Bluelight is all about community. If you feel creative, you can create your own office buildings, equipment, and other items for other players to use and to sell them on the marketplace.

Basic creator tools are available to every Bluelight player. Players can customize basic items they own, but can’t create new ones.

Advanced creator tools are available for partnerships and professional creators. As the game is in the development stage, access to these tools is limited at the moment.

Please contact the Bluelight team to get access to advanced creator tools.

# Economy

![](https://759053326-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FGDWzJLDI8fnyNevGYHZX%2Fuploads%2FriuUt5WBNKQcVpLvwFfX%2FEconomy.png?alt=media\&token=d408827d-3ca8-45d8-b64d-0696d593b507)

### Overview <a href="#j9nmw99qlvl9" id="j9nmw99qlvl9"></a>

Bluelight players earn and spend different currencies and resources to progress the game. There are two main currencies - **bux** and **$KALE. Bux** is a soft currency and does not live on chain. This currency is used for basic in-game interactions. **$KALE** is a token on BNB chain, that is used to pay rewards and to acquire powerful and rare NFTs. Some actions may require both currencies.

**Bux** and **$KALE** work great in pair, allowing developers to balance game play and provide sustainable control to inflation and deflation of on-chain assets.

# Items ownership

Almost all items in Bluelight are NFTs that belong to you.

Players can operate their NFTs in the game to complete projects and earn rewards.

Players can rent out their in-game items to other players. The most common use cases are land, offices and characters. In exchange the owner of NFT will receive a share of rewards, gained with help of its NFTs.

Players can withdraw their NFT to their wallet at any time or sell it on the marketplace or in a P2P transaction.

The most creative users can create their own NFTs for other players to use. The opportunities are limitless but the ownership always stays with the gamer.

# Tokenomics (KALE)

Bluelight has a special in-game currency called **$KALE** which is a cross chain token.

Players earn and spend $KALE tokens in the game and on the official game marketplace.

### Anatomy <a href="#vy7wn8xvjp8p" id="vy7wn8xvjp8p"></a>

**$KALE** is a cross-chain ERC-20 / BEP-20 fungible token. Token will be issued on the Ethereum blockchain but can be easily transferred to BNB Chain.

The main gameplay and token spend / earnings will take place on BNB blockchain. This gives a lot of benefits to players, including fast cheap transactions, accessibility and stability.

When the token is being moved from one chain to another using a teleport mechanism, smart contracts will make sure that the total circulating amount of tokens across all chains will remain the same.

Game’s smart contracts are open sourced and will be available on the official github repository.

### Allocation and release schedule

The maximum supply of tokens will not exceed 10,000,000,000 $KALE which are planned to be allocated and released on a predetermined schedule according to the following table:

![](https://759053326-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FGDWzJLDI8fnyNevGYHZX%2Fuploads%2FRxj8Mgog8KIXrQ0U3Jmq%2F0?alt=media)

**Player rewards** tokens will start being issued in eual portions over the period of 60 months and will be distributed to players as they progress the game. Also, a portion of this pool will be used for staking rewards available later.

**Foundation** tokens will be released with an equal amount each month over the period of 60 months. These tokens will be used to support the community and the ecosystem, offering grants to create high quality in-game content and applied products.

**Team and founders**’ tokens will be released gradually with an equal amount each month, over the period of 60 months. These tokens will be used to incentivise the development team and key personnel.

**Marketing** tokens will be released with an equal amount each month over the period of 24 months. Marketing funds will be spent on influencers and promotional activities around the web to bring players on board the new game.

**Liquidity pool** tokens will be issued on day one and will provide token liquidity on various DEX exchanges. Profits of the sale will be used to buy backs and support of token liquidity across all chains.

**Advisors**’ tokens will be released over the period of 12 months and will be reserved to reward top advisors that help with strategic development and plan the game’s economics.

### Token utility

$KALE token is a default in-game currency. Players earn their bonuses in $KALE, and can spend $KALE on various improvements to progress in the game. Where needed, $KALE is also used as a payment for transaction fees.

$KALE token is also used on an official marketplace.

Players can hold, trade, or exchange $KALE on a third party crypto exchanges at any time. Please see below for official recommendations of bridges and exchanges.

### Tokenomics

This chart displays how tokenomics work in the Bluelight game.

### Bridges and exchanges

Being a cross chain token, $KALE can be moved between two major chains: BNB Chain and Ethereum. To move a token, the holder should use an official teleport mechanism located at [https://teleport.bluelight.inc](https://teleport.bluelight.inc/).&#x20;

Other options may be available in the future and will be announced at all available official channels. There may be third party’s options available, but we recommend to double check and do your own research before use and make sure you trust them as we can’t guarantee they will work properly.

### Token contracts

# Inflation and deflation

In order to control supply and demand of NFTs as the game grows, Bluelight introduces burning mechanisms for all items.&#x20;

Burning implementation is seamlessly integrated into the game process. Players burn character's NFTs in order to level up their other members of their team. And since core gameplay requirements are constantly changing, it balances demand of various character types at a given moment of time.

Similar mechanics are used to balance in-game items: in order to get better equipment, unused equipment must be burnt. The more players burn, the higher the chance to get an item with a higher rarity class. On the other hand, higher level characters require some items in the office, which produces diversified demand for office equipment.

# Ways to earn

### Playing the game <a href="#g14aks7mul9y" id="g14aks7mul9y"></a>

When players complete projects, activities or events, they earn a reward. Rewards are paid in $KALE tokens for players who reached level 10 or higher. When a player picks up a project to work on, reward amount will be displayed in the project's information screen.

Every couple of weeks, called “Seasons” Epic projects are published. Epic projects require a lot of skills to be completed. Each Epic project has a prize pool that will be distributed to those players who have completed it in required time. Prize pool is based on activity of all players on the markets and varies from season to season. The Prize pool may also include unique NFTs.

### NFT collection

Most items, characters, land parcels or buildings are NFT tokens. Players own their tokens and can collect or trade them directly with other players and/or on various marketplaces. Players can rent NFT to other players.

Some NFTs may be more valuable than others, and it may change due to demand on the market and seasonal epic projects available to completion.

### Careers

When players get big, and have to manage a lot of offices, it may become hard and time consuming. These players may hire other players as Managers to help them with daily routines. Managers receive a reward as a fixed amount or revenue share from the offices they are managing.

### Real estate

Owning a land or a building brings a lot of benefits to a player. But it is not necessary to develop them on your own. Players can rent a land or a building to another player for a fixed amount or for a revenue share from companies residing in their land or office.

# Marketplace

**NOTE:** The marketplace is currently under construction

There is an official marketplace for Bluelight game where players can trade goods and in-game items: [https://market.bluelight.inc](https://market.bluelight.inc/)

There are lots of other marketplaces that players can also use to trade their goods.

Bluelight will take a commission of 5% from each NFT item sold on marketplaces. This commission will contribute to a prize pool for the Epic project of the next season of the game.

# Project financing

To maintain and develop the game further, Bluelight will take some steps to secure enough funds to pay engineering salaries and marketing expenses. A portion of $KALE tokens will be also allocated to the developer fund. From time to time, BlueLight will release its own and/or collaboratively created collection of in-game items to be sold on its own marketplace.

Initial land sale will be taking place to cover development costs for beta and the first version of the game.

### Initial land sale

Initial land sale will take place in July, 2022 and will include 10,000 land parcels (out of about 65,000 total).

Initial land sale will take place in two stages: stage 1 - title deeds sale, and stage 2 - deeds to parcel conversion.

#### **Stage 1: Title deeds**

During the stage 1, players can prepare for the game launch by getting title deeds for land parcels. Title deeds come in 5 rarity types: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Unique.&#x20;

Only Unique rarity guarantees a predefined place on a map of San Crypto. Other rarity types will be converted to a random land parcel of the same rarity during the **stage 2** with a chance to get a higher rarity parcel.

Some title deeds also include a chance to win a free buildings blueprint NFTs.

There will be an early access to a Stage 1 sales for people in the white list. Please read [official Bluelight Medium blog](http://bluelightworlds.medium.com/) on how to get yourself white listed.

#### Stage 2:&#x20;

The development team works hard on the final map of San Crypto, and as soon as it will be completed, Stage 2 will be announced.

During Stage 2, holders of title deeds NFTs will be able to convert them to a land parcels and will get bonuses if lucky.

### BNB Chain

BNB Chain was introduced in 2017 as Binance Smart Chain and was rebranded to BNB Chain later in 2020. BNB Chain is now competing with Ethereum as one of the most popular blockchains for developing decentralized projects.&#x20;

Unlike Ethereum, BNB Chain uses a combination of proof-of-authority and proof-of-stake consensus mechanisms, which significantly reduces energy consumption and is environmentally friendly.

### Game's engine

The game is built on top of the Unity engine to make it versatile and playable across various platforms.

Initially, the game will be available to play in modern web browsers with stand alone clients for mobiles, Windows, Mac and Linux later on the road. We are trying to keep system requirements as low as possible to allow users with low end hardware to play the game.

### Security <a href="#jctmo6awtv8j" id="jctmo6awtv8j"></a>

We are taking all the necessary steps to provide top notch security for smart contracts and any other game assets. Smart contracts are regularly audited by top industry professionals. All information about current and past audits will be available at the game’s website. If you have any complaints or have discovered a critical bug please contact our tech team immediately.

# Environmental Impact

Bluelight is built on BNB chain that does not use the Proof-of-work consensus method, instead it uses a combination of Proof-of-stake and Proof-of-authority mechanisms. That means, the environmental impact of the game, its assets and backend is reduced to a minimum, and can be compared with the impact that regular mobile games and apps have.

Viewpoint Labs is taking green technologies seriously and constantly monitoring the market for environmentally friendly products and offsets carbon when possible.

### **Phase 2: The multiverse experience**

Funds and the audience collected during Phase 1 will allow us to advance the game development to a new level.

First, to empower the economy of the game and the creativity of the players, new no code creator tools will be provided, allowing companies to build experiences that other players can enjoy. Think games, concerts, collaborations and virtual sporting activities. Creators then are free to choose to provide free access or to monetize their experiences.

Second, thanks to technologies we are using right from the start, we were laying the foundation to release a VR version of the game. A virtual reality view of the Bluelight world will make experiences more enjoyable and open new possibilities for creators.

As for the game itself, we plan to release stand alone clients for multiple platforms as well, including iOS, Android, Windows, Mac.
